Frequently Asked Questions

What security does Interborg insist on?
Unlike banks, Interborg will generally speaking not insist upon collateral security being made available. Revolving mortgages, pledging of accounts receivable, instalments, stocks and plant and machinery are examples of collateral security.

Interborg will, however, insist on a counter guarantee by the parent-sister companies in a parent-subsidiary or group company scenario.

What basis does Interborg charge on?
The fee is calculated on the basis of an assessment of the applicant's solvency and the nature and level of guarantees it requires. A Company visit will be made in this context.

Despite the fact that it does not insist on collateral security being provided, Interborg generally works out no more expensive than the banks. In fact, its fee levels often enable savings to be made, all the more so owing to the fact that the client's line of credit remains fully available.

What to do if the specifications-contract insist that the guarantee should be issued by a bank? Under normal circumstances you can apply for it with Interborg.

Guarantees have traditionally been provided by banks, hence the term 'bank guarantee'. However, in practice guarantees having been issued by suretyship companies are also accepted. In fact several reputable principles prefer these.
